Someone had turned the lights off, and the only light in the room was coming from the wide open fire that burned in the corner of the large Victorian living room that formed part of the flat.
The two girls were strangers mostly: Anne a tall, quiet studious raven-haired girl and Maddie the wild party-girl with hair dyed a fiery red. The pair had only met because their boyfriends shared a flat. The men were asleep that night though, and each of the girls had decided to go and get a drink of water when they stumbled into one another.
"Sorry, sorry," whispered Anne, ever-mindful of her manners. Maddie had stumbled a little, but recovered, and shook her head.
"It's fine," she whispered back, looking over at Anne. "I didn't think anyone else would be up, you know."
They stood there for a second in the flickering light. It was almost romantic - something they both noted, with Anne becoming slightly embarrassed and Maddie immediately grinning to herself. Neither of them looked at the other, instead letting their gaze wander around the room.
Maddie's eye moved over the ceiling, and she paused.
"Mistletoe..." she said, pointing.
"Oh..." said Anne, looking away. "Stupid boys. They just want us to kiss."
"Yeah. But they're not around."
"Right. Let's forget it."
"Oh no... tradition is tradition..." Maddie said with a smirk. One hand rested on Anne's hips while the other gently stroked hercheek. Maddie leant in, flicking her tongue across the other girl's lips, teasing and soft and wet.
Suddenly, the tongue was gone, and Anne felt lips against hers. They were unfamiliar, without the usual traces of masculinity or or stubble, and not at all chapped. But even so, Anne could feel the familiar forcefulness of the kiss, an insistence that melted any resistance and made her open her mouth to invasion.
The silence was suddenly filled by the smacking of their lips. They kissed, their tongues melting back and forth erotically into one another's mouth: Anne found herself instinctively licking and sucking Maddie's tongue, treating it as if it were her boyfriend's manhood. Maddie moaned, enjoying the sensations and reciprocating. Before long, their hands were roaming freely, groping one another's breasts and asses, or tickling their sides as they kissed.
Eventually, though, they broke the kiss. Maddie pulled away before Anne who was left kissing the air and moaning softly, upset that it had had to end. Then, as she realized what she had done, Anne blushed, and looked away.
"That shouldn't have happened. I can't believe... oh God, please don't tell anyone..."
Maddie kissed Anne's neck, and let her teeth find the other girl's earlobe.
"What's wrong? Haven't you ever kissed a girl before?"
"No," Anne said, flushing scarlet in the gloom and looking away embarrassed. She felt a hand on her chin, turning her face back for another kiss that seemed to last forever, but end too soon.
"Well, you're going to love what comes next" Maddie whispered, guiding them both to the sofa. "Sit down, and open you're legs..."
